"You goes racketing around like this, Dobby, I says, and next thing I hear you's up in front of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, like some common goblin."
-- Winky to Harry Potter, about Dobby the house-elf (GF8)
Why can’t goblins be more like elves? is an opinion article in the Daily Prophet, written by Winkus Oddpick (DP3).
The editorial written by Mr Oddpick following the goblin riots in Chipping Clodbury appeared on page 32 of the Daily Prophet. Unfortunately we do not have that page or the text of his article, but from the title we assume that he is not in favour of giving any more rights to goblins (DP3).
Commentary
Notes
Mr Oddpick wants goblins to be more like house-elves who, except for Dobby, all seem to embrace their subservience to Witches and Wizards.
Although the date printed on the third Daily Prophet Newsletter (DP3) is 1 June 1999, the timeframe for this event is 1992-1993.
