"It’s time-out! ....as trained mediwizards hurry onto the field to examine Aidan Lynch!"
-- Ludo Bagman (GF8)
Mediwizards are deployed to treat injuries at Quidditch World Cup matches. It is not known whether their skills are distinct from healing, analogous to the difference between a physician and a paramedic. If it is distinct, a mediwizard might be more like a paramedic, judging from their emergency-like duties at the World Cup (GF8, QWC).
It is unknown what mediwizards use to help/revive people. However, at the 1994 Quidditch World Cup, mediwizards used potion to help revive Irish National Quidditch player, Aidan Lynch:
“He was now circling high above Lynch, who was being revived by mediwizards with cups of potion” (GF8).
Potions Connection
At the 1994 Quidditch World Cup, mediwizards used "cups of potion" to revive Aidan Lynch (GF8). It is unknown what kind of potion this was.
