Found in Delphi’s room at St Oswald’s Home for Old Witches and Wizards, it contained a hidden prophecy in Parseltongue (CC3.21).
- When Ginny Weasley Potter unscrewed the top from the base, the lamp began to breathe and make a hissing noise (CC3.21).
- Harry realized the lamp was speaking Parseltongue, and he used snake language to open it. The room darkened (instead of brightened, as a lamp would do) and masses of snakes appeared to crawl over the walls along with a "fluorescent" prophecy: "When spares are spared, when time is turned, when unseen children murder their fathers: then will the Dark Lord return.’
- On the ceiling another line appeared: "I will rebirth the Dark. I will bring my father back," referring to the fact that Delphi was the child of Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange (CC3.21).
