Clicking on the eraser on the desktop transports you to the Rubbish Bin. Here Rowling brings up some of the more ridiculous statements she’s seen in the press and debunks them thoroughly.

The various bits of nonsense are found by clicking on the crumpled papers in the rubbish bin.

Rowling writes: “It is inevitable that amongst all the who-knows-how-many Harry Potter/J K Rowling stories that appear in the press there will be some that are less than accurate. This is a great place to tell you the truth about some of the more-fiction-than-fact articles.” The stories include a false report that her husband, a doctor, had given up his practice after marrying Rowling.

She rates the stories she debunks with a “garbage-o-meter, listing them anywhere from “STARTING TO SMELL” to “TOXIC.”
