Ryuichi Yamaguchi was a Chaser for Japan’s National Team at the Quidditch World Cup. tournament in 2014 (Pm).
Yamaguchi was one of the three Chasers in the talented Japanese team at the 2014 tournament (Pm).
The Japanese team won their first match against Poland and the quarter-final against the Nigerian side. The team subsequently lost to Bulgaria at the semi-final stage (Pm).
Japan won against the United States to secure a third place overall (Pm).

Since Viktor Krum, born 1976, was the oldest player at the tournament (Pm), Yamaguchi must have been born after 1976.
As he comes from Japan, Yamaguchi will have attended the Mahoutokoro Wizarding School, as all the members of the Japanese national side are said to have done so (Pm).
Commentary
Etymology
Ryuichi derives from 竜, 龍 (ryuu) meaning "dragon" and 一 (ichi) meaning "one". He may also be named after the award winning Japanese musician and composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Yamaguchi derives from Japanese 山 (yama) meaning "mountain" and 口 (kuchi) meaning "mouth, entrance" (Behind the Name).
