"The club... an attack. Dear, dear, this is not a happy cup...."
-- Madam Trelawney
Tea leaf symbol from Unfogging the Future meaning “an attack.”
- When Ron viewed the image in Harry's cup, he thought it was a bowler hat, but Trelawney interpreted it as a club (PA6)
- The Club could be foreshadowing the rowdy Quidditch Final between Gryffindor and Slytherin in which several people were clubbed (PA15), or the club-carrying security Trolls hired to protect the Fat Lady's portrait from Sirius Black (PA14).
- When Lupin describes the Patronus Charm as a shield from Dementors, "Harry had a sudden vision of himself crouching behind a Hagrid sized figure holding a large club" (PA12).
- Of course Harry was attacked later in the book by Dementors, which he fought off with his Patronus (PA20).
