You might have noticed that the website seems to be crashing a lot lately. Believe me, we’ve noticed it too! We are very, very sorry for the inconvenience.
The server on which the Lexicon was running has been slowly deteriorating over the past year or so. We’ve been nursing it along while waiting for the funds to become available to remedy the situation. Recently, we finally were able to purchase two new servers which will fix the problem once and for all.
But as it turns out, the process of moving the site over isn’t as simple as you might expect. The transition has taken many hours of work and we’re still not finished. As you probably know, the people working on the website are all volunteers who put in time whenever they can, typically on the weekends. One weekend, for example, our Tech Wizard out in seventeen hours on the project. There are still plenty of hours of work left ahead of us.
In the meantime, Peeves has been having a lot of fun with the old server, causing the site to crash until we can fix it. I know this is frustrating for you. Our editors are equally frustrated, I promise you. We’re working on it as fast as we can, and no one will be happier when the whole process is complete than Nick, our Tech Wizard. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and annoyance. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before we put all of this behind us.
