Chocolate Easter Eggs are a traditional western present given at Easter time. In the wizarding world as in the muggle world, the eggs can be homemade (GF28) or store bought (OP29).
Mrs Weasleys sends Easter eggs to her children and to Harry and Hermione each year.
In fourth year, “Percy’s letter was enclosed in a package of Easter eggs that Mrs Weasley had sent. Both Harry’s and Ron’s were the size of dragon eggs, and full of home-made toffee. Hermione’s, however, was smaller than a chicken’s egg. Her face fell when she saw it. ‘Your mum doesn’t read Witch Weekly, by any chance, does she, Ron?’ she asked quietly.” (GF28).
In his fifth year Harry receives “a handsome chocolate egg decorated with small, iced Snitches and, according to the packaging, containing a bag of Fizzing Whizzbees” (OP29).
