I’ve been a Lego fanatic since always. My favorite was the castle, with its drawbridge and towers. I built and rebuilt and redesigned that set over and over for years. You might say I have a thing about Lego and castles.
Which means that this August is going to be a pretty big month for me. That’s when a whole new Lego castle is coming out. And it’s not just any castle … it’s Hogwarts. Officially it’s called Hogwarts Great Hall, but it features more than just that one room. You can pretty much recreate the entire first couple of books with this set. It comes with the expected tables and benches, but it also includes reversible house banners and floating candles. Next to the Great Hall is a tower featuring a spiral staircase, potions room, and a room at the top with the Mirror of Erised.
And minifigs? Oh yeah, it’s got minifigs. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are there, of course, along with Draco, McGonagall, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Nearly-Headless Nick, Hedwig, Scabbers, and even Susan Bones, for some reason. And just to make sure no one is left out, you can build the Basilisk and Fawkes. And the Quirrell figure’s head can be rotated to reveal Voldemort. You get wands, a pink umbrella, brooms, cauldrons, and pretty much anything else you can imagine.
The Great Hall set is the first is a series of Lego sets featuring iconic locations from the Wizarding World. There are sets coming for the Whomping Willow as well as for locations from Fantastic Beasts. The Great Hall set is coming out August 1st, with additional sets coming later in the year. Looks like I’m back into building Lego!
Because let’s face it, we all want minifig versions of Pickett, the Niffler, and those adorable Mooncalves.
