"He will certainly be unable to kick the Snitch if I turn him into a jellyfish, which is the sort of simple mistake I might allow myself one of these days"
-- Cormack McLeod, Manager of the Montrose Magpies (DP2)
Maddock blamed for Kestrels’ win is an article in the Sports section of the Daily Prophet, after another mistake by Quidditch player Alasdair Maddock (DP2).
Maddock was the Chaser for the Montrose Magpies Quidditch team and the cause of his team’s loss against the Kenmare Kestrels. This came about because he tried using techniques from Muggle football during the match. The ensuing error allowed Kestrels’ Seeker Aidan Kiely to catch the Snitch (DP2).

Notes
This is the second in a series of articles where we learn about Alasdair Maddock and his fondness for Muggle sports:
- Magpie Chaser "Only Tried Football for a Laugh" (DP1),
- Maddock blamed for Kestrels' win (DP2),
- Mugglemaniac Maddock must quit Magpies, says McLeod (DP3).
It would have taken a tremendous amount of skill to be able to land a kick on such a tiny and speedy thing as the Snitch - really an impossible trick to even try to do in the first place. This is just more evidence of Maddock's inattention to the sport of Quidditch.
