• McGonagall, the Transfiguration professor, tells the students the story of the Chamber of Secrets, even though the History of Magic professor, Binns, does that in the book.

• The entrance to Dumbledore's office has a statue that is not a gargoyle outside, and rather than "coming to life" when given the password, it simply moves out of the way.

Film Contamination

• Slytherins are potting Mandrakes right alongside the Gryffindors in the film, even though it's supposed to be Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors, no one else.
